Medical Provider Trainings

Parallel Paths: Linking Reproductive Health and HIV/AIDS Providers
As part of the
M·A·C AIDS Fund Women's Initiative, MCRH has received a grant to provide training and networking opportunities to reproductive health and HIV/AIDS providers in the greater Memphis area. Learn more about MCRH's Parallel Paths Project. View our press release.
Targeted Audience: Medical doctors, nurse practitioners, and nurses in family practice, internal medicine, and OB/GYN, HIV/AIDS social and medical service providers, midwives
Goals:
- To strengthening collaboration and referrals among local reproductive health providers and HIV/AIDS organizations.
- To support local HIV/AIDS service providers to integrate reproductive health information into their education and counseling with HIV-positive women
- To support local reproductive health providers to integrate HIV testing and prevention messages into their client visits and interactions.
Positive Encounters: Talking One-to-One with Teens about Contraception
The Positive Encounters workshop was developed by the Center for Family Life Education of Planned Parenthood of Greater Northern New Jersey. It is intended for people who interact with teens one-to-one and who care about teens' sexual health and decision making.
Targeted Audience: Parents/guardians, foster parents, teachers, guidance counselors, social workers, health care providers, clinic staff, health educators, counselors, clergy, probation officers
Goals:
- Professionals will have positive one-to-one interactions with young people about contraception, safer sex, and other sexuality issues.
- Teens will receive support from professionals for making healthy contraceptive and safer sex decisions.
Length of Time Required: One 8-hour session, or two 4-hour sessions
